Overseas

As well as the UK opportunities, for 2010 TLC Outdoors is looking into offering trekking holidays to both Morocco and Kenya, with training weekends available in North Wales.

For those not wishing to travel too far or trek too high, Morocco is a fantastic destination.  The flight is only 3 hours and suddenly you are in Africa.  Trips to Morocco are 8 days and offer a couple of days in Marrakech as well as up to 4 days trekking in regions such as the Jebel Sahro or Todra Gorge.

Kenya, on the other hand, is for those a little more committed.  Point Lenana, the highest point accessible to the walker on Mount Kenya, stands at 4,985m and is a formidable challenge.  The trek takes 5 days, including a rest day at Mackinder’s Hut (4,200m) to help acclimatisation.  Trips to Kenya can be from 8 to 15 days and can include working on a community project and other activities such as safari, if required.

The trips will take place in April (Morocco) and September (Kenya).
